 tiveEmergence Collective builds beautiful\, minimalist sound worlds that g
 radually evolve through improvised performance. Featuring a revolving line
 up of up to fifteen musicians and a vibrant mix of ancient and modern inst
 ruments\, the ensemble brings together exciting combinations of the North
 ’s finest improvisors. Drawing on their collective musical backgrounds i
 n folk\, jazz\, experimental and early music\, they generate a hypnotic\, 
 otherworldly kaleidoscope of sound\, completely unique to every live perfo
 rmance and every space they perform in. The group has played at and sold o
 ut venues across the north of England\, released several albums\, and run 
 practical and accessible workshops exploring their creative process. Direc
 ted by Juliana Day (recorders/whistles)\, Rob Bentall (nyckelharpa)\, Tim 
 Knowles (guitar) and Zebedee Budworth (hammered dulcimer). Bishops HouseEm
 ergence Collective are excited to announce two very special performances t
 aking place at Bishops House. A sixteen-piece version of the group will oc
 cupy the historic timber-framed house\, inviting you to walk around the Gr
 ade II listed building as Emergence Collective weave hypnotic pattern musi
 c across four rooms simultaneously\, giving each listener a completely uni
 que experience of the performance. The events are for all ages - families 
 are welcome to attend!
