An evening of Improv – Martin Archer / The Garden / Meson

Friday 30th May 7.30

Featuring Martin Archer / The Garden / Meson

An evening of improvised electronic music.

The Garden are a relatively new duo featuring Nick Robinson (guitar/keys/loops) and Andy Peake (keys/FX) and could be described as dark, dense and distorted, except when they are subtle and ethereal! Check out a recent recording on soundcloud.

Martin Archer is a legend of Sheffield improvised music and not to be missed.  For this solo performance, in itself an increasingly rare event, Martin will use organ, filters and loops to create a minimalist drone style improvisation.

Meson are a group of improvising musicians under the misguidance of Bo Meson who tries to impose vocalised disorder by shouting in the background. How you categorise it is anyone’s guess. Ambient? Ambidelic? Free-form? Improg? Make your own mind up, we prolly won’t object to your preferred label!

£3 admission.
