Anna will tell us the story of Portland Works, which was recently saved from conversion into flats. It is a surviving example of an ‘integrated cutlery works’ where all the processes took place on one site, and is still in use by metal tradespeople. It’s important too because the very first stainless steel knives were made there in 1914.
Entry free, but please arrive early to be sure of a place.
