Over the last decade, C Joynes has ploughed a singular furrow through solo guitar, with a body of work incorporating English folk-tunes alongside North & West African music, and lifting proto-minimalist and improvised techniques from the European classical tradition. Shifting to solo electric guitar on his most recent releases, the ‘33 Chatsworth Rd’ EP on alt.vinyl (2015) and ‘Split Electric’ LP on Thread Recordings (2016), he’s currently exploiting the instrument’s potential for placing overdriven garage blues throw- downs alongside the brittle ringing tones of electric folk.

Burnt Paw is a songwriter and fingerstyle folk guitarist who lives beneath Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh. His music is influenced by a wide range of alternative and experimental artists/styles from both sides of the Atlantic, including psychedelic folk, contemporary, new/dark folk, and whatever weird wonders he discovers on Bandcamp (that’s where you’ll find his music too). Burnt Paw’s songs unwind from oral histories, dream-fragments, myths, imaginary adventures and life-stories. He loves self-made art, occasionally publishes poetry, reads a lot of Walt Whitman and buys too many second hand books on Neolithic history.

Influenced by the sounds of 1960’s folk guitar, progressive rock and modal jazz, Henry Parker creates a modern sound from these archaic influences, writing songs that lyrically entwine landscapes, people and politics. Traditional folk music contributes strongly to his sound, whilst a distinctive finger-picked guitar style calls to mind players as diverse as Bert Jansch and Bill Frisell.
