Ken Dash has laboriously researched the history of Bishops’ House, Norton Lees, Meersbrook Hall and Norton.  You will find much of Ken’s work in other parts of the history section of this website.  David Bostwick’s work extends over a wider area, and unfolds the histories of  16th and 17th century houses and their occupants in a unique manner.  He has an unrivalled knowledge of the decorative arts, in particular the development of decorative plasterwork and carved woodwork by the plasterers and joiners of Norton.  This extra layer of knowledge provides unique perspectives on the histories of families, craftsmen and the buildings they lived in and worked on.
